2. Alumni involvement in school events

a) Education and Career Seminar (16 May 2011)

The emphasis of our Education and Career seminar 2011 is on the following:

  • exploring the world of work
  • awareness of relevant courses of study
  • awareness of skills, interests and values

The overall goal of the seminar is to deepen students' understanding of self and relate schooling to the different education and career pathways.

The school would like to seek the assistance of alumni members to contribute towards the Education and Career Seminar in any of the following ways:

Career Clinic – small group activity in which a representative from your esteemed organization hold an interactive session for our pupils to raise queries on a specific career represented.

Industry visit – out-of-school activity for a group of 40-70 students. Students are taken on a guided tour of the organization, to learn about the nature of the industry, view the facilities and general environment, observe classes or work in progress, and interview the students/workers where possible.

Career Exhibition – mass activity in the school with the opportunity for individual self-directed learning. Large groups of students can visit the exhibition and they can individually visit the booth of their choice, set up by organizations to learn more about their career opportunities upon completing their education. Personnel or course counselors can be on hand to provide more ready information about the industry, basic academic qualifications etc.
